Clip from article about "It Came from Above" exhibit: A youthful brew of fine art and graffiti, personal style and cultural influences, subject matter and media is bubbling at Space 237 in downtown Toledo.

Even the North Michigan Street gallery itself is part of the show, said Max Lawrence, 28, a native Toledoan and one of 14 Featured artists whose exhibit opens tonight with a party from 7 to 10 p.m. The show continues through June 18.

"We create an environment for the objects to exist in, " explained Lawrence, the son of gallery owner-director Morgan Lawrence. Artwork, walls, and gallery spaces blend into a cohesive whole.

Clip from article: Fresh from the "Lollapalooza of Art" at the Mockbee, the Publica and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, 14 young artists swooped into Space 237 on Michigan Avenue in Toledo April 16 and will remain through June 18 to tantalize and scintillate Toledo area inhabitants.

These young artists' creative energies know no bounds, but they do know that walls are for more than holding up ceilings and that frames are--in many instances -- superfluous. Not confining themselves to any medium, these 14 artists paint, write and perform music, design, photograph and sculpt.
