In the vein of Andy Warhol, Brodik satires commercialism, going after companies that market you-and-only-you self-improvement products that promise to deliver the self-image you've always desired. Brodik's paintings parody product advertisements, such as the classic, hair regrowth ad campaign that depicts over a series of four photos, man's dramatic transformation from bald to sporting a new, thick crop of hair. But Brodik doesn't stop there. The artist examines everything from breast augmentation to erectile dysfunction. |
