Exhibition featuring jewelry and metalwork created by faculty and students of UT, Bowling Green State University, Center of Creative Studies, Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. Works are made of several materials, including marble, copper, chrome, glass, quartz, walnut, brass and silver.

As in past editions, the current exhibit spotlights both housewares and jewelry. But compelling jewelry dominates this year's event, a trove of fashion items too daring for stores.

Tubbs is one of the newest members of the Space237 family. A performance artist and painter, he has painted in public for several years, standing on street corners and parks in Ann Arbor and Manhattan. Preferring the energy of city movement to the staleness of a quiet studio, Tubbs synthesized his two artistic preoccupations. It is this sort of intermedia exploration that made Tubbs' work initially attractive to Space237, a new showcase for artists that opened this past fall in spite of a flood that initially wiped out the basement.
