And for those who say there's a real brain drain going on, mosey on over to Space 237 on Michigan Avenue afterwards. From 7-10 p.m., the opening reception for "Transitions," Space 237's 2004 Fall Annual Exhibition will take place.

In more than 10,000 square feet of exquisite gallery space on two floors, local , national and international artists, representing almost every medium will exhibit unique interpretations of life.

Self-taught Toledo artist Kim Thanasiu returns this year with a large installation of his paintings and symbols. Two other Toledo artists, Sally Thompson and Ben Moeller, are featured. Thomson's portraits are not quite caricatures, but capture the essential core of her subjects by highlighting a certain feature or demeanor. Moeller's crisp drawings, as described by exhibition coordinator Hali Lynne, "are accented with muted washings - figurative pieces that comment on the whimsical relationship of the human form with the environment."

Hallways will be filled with the latest work of Toledo's talented and nationally acclaimed computer artist Dustin Hostetler. Display cases will offer a variety of jewelry and accessories in metal, beads and semi-precious stones.

If you're feeling a little creative, visit ClaySpace in the lower level and try your hand at designing a tile. These tiles will be part of a permanent installation in Space 237's historic building.
